Alvies x El Baker
Introducing El Baker, the enchanting paint sorceress from Austin, who's been transforming Texas into a whimsical masterpiece, one delightful paint twirl at a time. And guess what? Now we're graced with the privilege of having her wield her magic on her own exclusive Guadalupe boot – available in extremely limited quantity.
Her color palette? Oh, it's got the spirit of Texas on its own. Bold, a tad spicy, and sometimes as unpredictable as trying to figure out if it's boots or flip-flops weather. Because, let's be honest, in the art world and in Texas, a little unpredictability just adds that extra kick! Here is what El had to say about her inspiration for this artist series:
"One of my favorite things about creating art is mixing things you wouldn't expect -- in some of my paintings, I have photos layered with Impressionistic brush strokes, or in this case, I paired rugged cactus with midcentury shapes. I wanted the boots to be a combination of western cowgirl chic, paired with pops of bright color that you wouldn't find in the desert. I think these boots are fun and approachable, and someone could wear them to a rodeo, on a stroll through Terlingua, or just around town. Each pair is a little quirky and unique, and they were painted from our second-floor bedroom, with natural light from a big window while I listened to Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers and Tyler Childers."
